Matterdale is easily accessed by road, just 15 minutes from the M6 junction 40 via the A66. The shops of Penrith are just 15 minutes away and Keswick is 20 minutes. The cottage has its own private parking area and we also have secure storage for bicycles upon request.

Matterdale is easily accessed by road, just 15 minutes from the M6 junction 40 via the A66. The shops of Penrith are just 15 minutes away and Keswick is 20 minutes. The cottage has its own private parking area and we also have secure storage for bicycles upon request.
From the M6 junction 40, head west on the A66 towards Keswick. At the end of the dual-carriageway section, continue on the A66 for a further 2 miles until a sign on the left for Matterdale is reached. Take this turning and continue along the valley until the second turning on the left, signposted to Dacre and Thackthwaite. Take this turn, over the bridge and up the hill.
After the first sharp right-hand bend, take the right-hand fork, signposted to Lowthwaite. Continue past Greenah and look for the second drive on the right, signposted Greenrow, Greenbarn, Foxhill. Follow the drive down and bear right. Greenbarn is the first house and the parking is immediately in front.
